TNT Spring 2026 Rolling Applications
Tisch New Theatre (TNT) is seeking motivated undergraduate NYU students on a rolling basis for select roles on the production team of its spring Off-Broadway production of PIPPIN.
Spring Production Timeline
Load-In: Tuesday, April 21st
Tech Week: Wednesday, April 22nd - Friday, April 24th, 2026
Performances: Saturday, April 25th - Sunday, May 3rd, 2026
Strike: Sunday, May 3rd - Monday, May 4th
Open Positions and Role Descriptions

Assistant Stage Manager: Assists Production Stage Manager and Stage Manager in running rehearsals, including completing in-rehearsal tasks (being on book for lines, operating QLab, tracking through runs for individual departments, etc.) and sending out communications to cast and production team (weekly/daily calls, rehearsal reports, etc.) During tech and performances, Assistant Stage Manager works backstage as Assistant Deck Manager, reporting to Stage Manager, who functions as Deck Manager.
TIMELINE: Attends rehearsals Tuesdays through Fridays 7-10PM and Saturdays 11AM-5PM, Production Meetings Monday nights at 8:30PM, tech week, and all performances.
A2: Responsible for mic’ing actors pre-show. Makes sure batteries are in mics. Does any required maintenance for mics. Supports any audio/technical needs backstage during run of show; may double as Wardrobe Crew.
TIMELINE: Works tech week and all performances with minimal introductory meetings with Sound Designer, A1, and other technical heads pre-tech.
Production Assistant/Tech Crew: Assists with any production needs during tech week and strike. Reports to Production Management. Must be comfortable being on their feet for long periods of time and with physical labor. Seeking candidates with prior experience in any of the following departments: scenic, lighting, sound, production management, stage management.
TIMELINE: Works tech week and strike with minimal introductory meetings with Production Management.
Run Crew: Moves set pieces and props during shows, and assists stage management team backstage. Seeking candidates with stage management experience. Must be prepared to study and recall cues for scenic changes/prop handoffs/etc.
TIMELINE: Works tech week and all performances with introductory meetings with Stage Management, Direction, and/or Production Management.
Build & Paint Crew: Builds and paints set pieces using mixed materials (including wood and metal) to realize the scenic design vision. Prior experience or a hands-on arts-related background is preferred, but open to all.
TIMELINE: Works scenic build period of March 23rd - April 20th, as well as tech week.
Wardrobe Crew/Dresser: Assists actors getting in and out of costume, along with any quick changes that may happen during the show. Assists with any mending or maintenance of costumes. Launders costumes between set shows. Assists with coordinating the setup and strike of dressing rooms. Must be comfortable being on their feet and have a basic knowledge of hand sewing and mending.
TIMELINE: Works tech week and all performances with minimal introductory meetings with Wardrobe Supervisor pre-tech.
Makeup Crew: Helps apply makeup to actors according to the face charts/designs. Helps with any in-show makeup changes. Must be ready to work in a fast-paced manner and have knowledge of makeup application, potentially including prosthetics.
TIMELINE: Works tech week and all performances with minimal introductory meetings with Hair & Makeup Designer pre-tech.
Lighting Load-In Crew: The lighting load-in crew will be responsible for hanging, cabling, and focusing the light plot as drafted by the Lighting Designer. They report directly to and receive tasks from the Production Electrician. They may also be tasked with assisting the sound team in hanging and cabling speakers if requested. Crew members should also be able to comfortably lift 50 lbs of weight repeatedly throughout the day.
Lighting Load-In Crew members must be:
• Comfortable climbing 12-ft ladders
• Able to hang lighting fixtures and accessories with C-clamps or cheeseboroughs
• Familiar with the operation of a genie(lift)
• Able to tie clove hitch knots
• Familiar with cabling techniques (i.e. dogboning, focus slack, etc…)
• Familiar with setting up modes and addressing intelligent fixtures
• Able to read and execute light plots
• Familiar with focusing ellipsoidal (Source 4) and wash fixtures
TIMELINE: Works tech week and strike with minimal introductory meetings with Lighting Designer and Production Management pre-tech.
Photographer/Videographer: Take photos/videos at performances, rehearsals and other events at scheduled times determined by the Marketing Director. Provide a cut of raws to the Marketing Director, then provides edited photos based on chosen work. Assist the Marketing Team in different photo/video-related projects.
TIMELINE: Attends Marketing Meetings 7-8PM on Monday evenings. Can join the team at any time throughout the semester, as the nature of photography/videography projects arise on a rolling basis.
Usher: Works under Company Manager and Producer to craft a curated front of house experience for patrons. Guides patrons to seats and/or scans tickets at the door. Seeking enthusiastic candidates with prior experience in customer service, acting, or other front-facing roles.
TIMELINE: Works performances only, with minimal introductory meetings with Company Manager and Producer beforehand.
