NOVEMBER 7TH & 8TH, 2026 | NYU JACK CRYSTAL THEATER
This fall, TNT will be presenting its debut New Musicals Festival.
November 7th & 8th at NYU’s Jack Crystal Theater, three (3) new musicals written by at least one NYU undergraduate student will be selected to present their work for a live audience and receive industry feedback from Broadway producers, writers, and more.
SUBMISSIONS DUE:

Pre-Production Timeline:
Shows Selected - Sunday 10/4/26
Individual Show x TNT Onboarding Meetings - Week of 10/5/26
Rehearsal Period - Week of 10/12/26 - Week of 11/2/26 (4 weeks)
Performances
Location: NYU Jack Crystal Theatre (111 2nd Avenue, 5th Floor)
Dates: Saturday 11/7/26 and Sunday 11/8/26
Saturday - Load-In, Individual Show Rehearsal Time, Transition-Through, Presentation #1
Sunday - Presentation #2, Presentation #3, Load-Out
Tech Setup: 4 microphones at mic stands, 4 music stands, 1 piano with standing mic.
FAQs
Who is eligible to submit a musical?
Any new musical whose writing team includes at least one NYU undergraduate student is eligible to submit.
Do I need to have a full draft of my musical complete?
No! We are looking for shows at all stages of their lives, including early development. Whether you only have a few songs complete or you’ve had a full workshop production previously, we invite you to submit.
How will I receive industry feedback?
TNT will be inviting Broadway producers, writers, and other industry professionals to attend the festival, who will provide feedback via Google Form; responses will be shared with your team afterward.
What are some other perks of being a part of the festival?
TNT’s 2026 New Musicals Festival Participants will receive promotion on TNT’s socials and to the broader NYU network, bespoke graphic design by TNT’s in-house graphic designers, and a mixed sound recording of a performance of your choice. TNT will take care of all tech needs for the festival, making your team’s transition into performance days quick and easy, with plenty of day-of rehearsal time!
Can my family and friends attend the presentation?
Yes! The event will be openly ticketed, with ticket info to be released after shows are selected.
What is my team responsible for?
Your team will be responsible for casting the show, if it isn’t cast already, and running your own rehearsals. In an emergency situation, TNT can help you find last-minute rehearsal space on NYU campus.
